Mike Vlach

My thanks go out to Fred Butler who blogs at Hip and Thigh for pointing me in the direction of a blog that is new to me.  Mike Vlach has been blogging on Models of Eschatology, which is right up my alley.  I like the point of view which he is representing, which he terms the New Creation Model.  Before this series, he was blogging about New Testament use of the Old Testament, also right up my alley.

A word of caution, this is not basic blogging.  You have to have a basic understanding of the end times and the different views that are out there in order to follow what he is saying.  This is not incomprehensible though.  It just takes a little digesting.  I’m enjoying this new blog, and I plan on going back to read his past entries as well.  Maybe I’ll learn a thing or two.  Check it out at this link here.

Thanks for your post on Mike Valach. I have recently read his book, Has the Church Replaced Israel? In in it he does a thorough evaluation of the arguments both for and against “Replacement Theology”. After reading a number of your blog articles I believe you would enjoy reading the book. If you have already read it I would be interested in hearing your comments.

    • Hello Paul-

I’ve only just discovered Mike Vlach and am working through his posts from the beginning. I haven’t read his book, but from the sounds of it I would enjoy it. I am striving to find that position that is somewhere in between dispensationalism and covenant theology. I see in recent posts that M. Vlach is defending dispensationalism, which isn’t all bad. I’ll throw that idea on the back burner for my next book order.

Thanks for the suggestion and for posting.
